Our History and Employees
We are a diverse team of 7 people, mostly with Turkish roots, who know the challenges that need to be solved with the app and tackle them with a high level of intrinsic motivation. Our backgrounds are different and cover many areas.
Our Story
Ata, the man who came up with the idea for the app, was born in Istanbul and grew up in Germany. His family, who had no academic background, was unable to provide the necessary support due to various language barriers, which left its mark on his life. However, this led to the experience of 6 different training courses and 2 degree programs, all of which were abandoned. The desire for further training was always there, but never the opportunity to convert his own interests and motivations into the right jobs.
After many years, moves and various projects, Ata and Pinar met in 2022 and Pinar, who herself had moved to Germany in 2019 with her then 14-year-old daughter and her husband, told Ata about her language difficulties and how difficult it is to understand the school system in Germany. Through their years of experience as CEOs of companies, as managing directors of start-ups and associations in Turkey, the two shared the ideas for the app and the journey began...
After two and a half years and various discussions with numerous stakeholders, Gürkan joined in January 2024, completing the founding team with over 10 years of experience as a full-stack expert. He also only moved to Germany in 2022 and was able to understand the challenges on a linguistic and digital level.
And so, on April 18, 2024, following the funding approval from the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank, P-ick eGbR was founded.
The team now has a total of 7 mostly volunteers, including Kagan (front-end), Kuzey (front-end), Gamze (AI/data analysis) and Ercan (web and UX design), who are preparing to develop the app. This is further proof of how great the intrinsic motivation of everyone involved is.
